Enkindle 97 – 03.13.22 – Home Matters

In this reflection for the Second Sunday of Lent 2022, Kristen Fisher reminds us that we are just passing through this world on our journey toward our true home: in Heaven with the Lord.

In the gospel reading, Jesus shows us a little window where we can see and feel and experience just how good God is, and how amazing our new home our heavenly home will be. And Paul tells us in the second reading that our citizenship is in heaven. We are citizens of heaven. And that means that heaven is our true home, between now and then, is just a journey.

So this Lent let’s keep journeying. Let’s not grow weary or discouraged even with all the big ups and downs and twists and turns, all the things that are terrifying, all the things that we were not expecting. Let’s be confident that God is leading us ever closer to our home.

Kristen Fisher
Executive Director at | + EPISODES
Kristen was raised in a Catholic family, but it wasn't until middle school when she really encountered the Lord. Her faith journey ultimately led her to graduate from Franciscan University with a Bachelors Degree in theology and anthropology, and she left with a heart that was ready to share the Faith in the same way that had changed her own life; youth ministry. Kristen served as a youth minister in the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 16 years, spending most of her time serving middle schoolers and their families, specifically. She left parish ministry to join our team as we seek to equip and empower families to evangelize their own kids in a fun, authentic and dynamic way, all while working alongside parish evangelists. Kristen has been married to her husband Greg for  15 years, and together they are blessed to be raising 4 children.
