In this reflection for the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Kristen Fisher reminds us that Jesus always shows up when we need him, even if it’s not always in the way that we expect.
God doesn’t automatically make things easy. He doesn’t automatically make all the hard stuff go away. But He does show up, and He gives us exactly what we need for each day. In the Eucharist, Jesus becomes our daily bread. He comes every single day at Mass, to give us everything weneed for that day. He keeps showing up, over and over every day, and offers Himself to us as real food.
