In this reflection for the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Kristen Fisher encourages us to receive the crazy, extravagant, and absurd love of God and come back home to Him.
Even when you’re good, or even when you’re bad, God does not pour out his love based on whether or not we deserve it. He pours out his love based on whether or not he wants to give it. And Jesus is telling us in the gospel that God always wants to give his love, even on your worst day, or your best day, and on every day in between.
The Holy Spirit is the love of God in a person. God loves you and he wants to welcome you home. So let him, whatever stands in the way, get it out of the way, give it over to Jesus and let him get it out of the way. Come home to the heart of the father.
